Poor Nina

Many of you know how much I adore Matryoshka. Last spring I bought the girls this story, "The Littlest Matryoshka", and it quickly became a family favorite.


The girls love lining up the dolls and naming them. Anna, Olga, Varka, Vanda, Nadia and Nina. Nina embarks on this perilous journey in the story, and ultimately ends back up with her sisters (umm... spoiler alert?)

Well, apparently in her most recent journey she is eaten by a lion. (Or carried lovingly as if a baby cub?)
