Giant Gingerbread man

Today we made our lovely gingerbread man, we had so much fun!

Mixing in the spices and dry ingredients

Sasha announced that today was the best day ever because she was allowed to cook on the stove without moving away from the heat. hahaha

work it, work it

Eliana eating cereal, Sasha about to eat some cereal, Malia taking over the sugar and molasses mixture.

Combining wet and dry ingredients in her fabulous socks

Done with her cereal and ready to pat it down in to the pan.

Ready to cook! (Malia strikes a pose)

Sasha tickled pink that it is time to cook!

Package From Grandma

Since Gramma is usually here to see them open her gifts for herself, I decided to take pictures of them opening their package. I wanted to get it on video but the card was full and the girls did not want to wait :)

As you can see they can't wait to break in to that package :) I actually hadn't told them to go ahead yet and yet I'm quite certain they were going ahead ;o)

The package was so wonderfully wrapped that it became a game of tug of war.

Obviously a VERY fun game of tug of war

Making progress (we did water colors today, can you tell on Sasha's fingers?)

We've got entry

Investigating

And absolutely thrilled!

Stay tuned for pictures to come of us preparing and cooking our new delicious gingerbread friend. He shall be named and become a new tradition. Nothing like a giant gingerbread man to enjoy Winter with. "Run, run, as fast as you can. You can't catch me I'm a gingerbread man!"

Dishes Shmishes

yes I was supposed to be doing dishes.
Yes I was goofing off with Eliana instead.
Yes, she was really impressed with the "I'm pretending to pick my nose" pose.
And yes, I absolutely adore these girls. :)

She was laughing SO hard by the end of it that every picture looked something like this:

Once the giggles were well under control she took a turn as photographer for awhile-

Random Quote of the Day

"I'll be right back. Nobody eat my food. Nobody drink my hermit crab"

Pictures From the 25th

very dark because it was late at night, but some roasted almonds and pecans

Sasha opening a gift from Malia... in her special dress. The girls were quite certain they needed some "fancy dresses" this year :)

Opening a gift together

yay blocks!

Eliana in her dress

And checking out the new Castle Logic game

Malia's dress as she shows off a collection of knee socks

Eliana reading about her baby, who came with the name madeline. MadeLINE, not madelyn. ;o)

Our Christmas Eve baking & decorating results

I love this one, Sasha was SO excited to give Malia the gift she chose for her that she was moved to jump up and help unwrap. Malia was not amused. However, she loved the gift (the bella sara board game) so much that she got over it quickly. She barely cared about any other gifts... just gave them the minimal attention possible and went back to her game. Well, accept her sock monkey- she's really been wanting one. So now she has a Sophie the Sock Monkey.

Look how thrilled she is to see Malia open it <3

Thanks Dad and Rochelle!!

Then by the end of it I was sipping something hot

and under a nice big fleece blanket (as I should be!) I'm actually still under the same blanket. Love days where I'm not asked to take it off much!

I'll post a picture soon of their wooden peg people and play mat I made them :)

Label Much?

I pulled out Bella Sara from Malia's room for a family game and found the big, decoarated, obviously Bella Sara box labeled.

That is when you know organization is just part of who you are.

The Things They Say

I decided I need to get better at writing down the funny/cute things they say. I always think it is too hilarious or too brilliant to forget and yet somehow I usually forget anyway. So, "Things They Say" take 1:

Today, after a discussion of every person being their own person, I asked Eliana if it bothers her when people say she is just like me. She replied "no, I kinda like it... It makes me think that they must think I am pretty cool like you are pretty cool" awww

An Sasha told us her version of Little Red Riding Hood today. In her version Little Red never veers from the path, and that blasted wolf followed her to grandmother's house anyway. Just when he was about to eat Grandma, Little Red Riding Hood jumped in between the two and save the day with her lightsaber. Thank you Dathan.

Eliana- "mom, what would you do if you went to a fiesta and then found out that you were naked?"

So then Sasha decided to act out Goldilocks and the three bears- she doesn't change the story much but at the end she concludes "well, Goldilocks was kinda rude"

Malia singing "deck the halls with balls of jolly, la la la la la, la la la la"

Eliana and I were goofing off and taking pictures of each other (and together) and she says "ok, now pretend to be a lady" hahahaha

Wooh!

Spent the day reorganizing the game/toy cabinet to fit a few more goodies and get rid of some things they have outgrown.

Isn't it beautiful??

Got a good portion of the games on a lower shelf they can reach. Sometimes I can't believe they are big enough that I WANT ten to reach a bunch of boxes with small objects in them!

Have the most commonly played with family toys down at the bottom easy to access now.

Their new colored pencil rolls- I need to get a picture of the inside, very cool! Sitting on their light desk for artwork :)

Looks awesome, but have a good pile of toys to take and donate now... Felt so good to get that done!
