Dathan is Good

The surgery seems to have gone according to plan. They found the tear in his labrum, repaired it, and anchored it to the bone... And we have the pictures to prove it. Wish they were digital :)

The girls hung out at the hospital with me and then there at the end I dropped them off at a friend's house. They don't get dropped off places that often since we don't live near family, I think this was the first time. It was good for them, they needed the break from the hospital.

I wish I could have been with Dathan more before his surgery, but we got up at 5 and were at the hospital at 6- didn't think we could find someone who would want to watch them at that ungodly hour.

It was good though... Dathan says he doesn't remember much of anything. He is in a lot if pain now, but coping surprisingly well. The dr warned me he would be grouchy and flustered and he has been no such thing, so I don't know what that was about.

He has this entire cold compress MACHINE to hook himself up to, some pain meds that could be doing a better job, and a sling to end all slings. It might as well be a cast.

And a few of the girls during his surgery-

At the cafeteria the woman who worked there was telling thevgirlatheu could have "pacakes, french toast, eggs and bacon..." and Sasha replied that she wanted cereal because she can have "those things" any day. Haha. The winning word would have been "waffles" they would have totally gone with waffles. But cereal and cinnamon rolls it was.

She was so sleepy and cuddly- 5 am was hard on us all! (patting her back, no beatings- promise)

Candy!

Much time reading

And the pokemon graphic novel Eliana can not bring herself to return to the library:)

Time for some leapster

and a little drawing

Dathan, it looks so major. Take good care to let it heal good so you don't have problems with it-especially at Jujitsu:) that makes me hurt just to think of it. Love you.

Soooo happy everything went smoothly -- that sling is not fooling around!!

The girls are adorable in the hospital, and that is hilarious about being able to have "those things any day". I love that the cinnamon rolls are as big as their heads!

Thought of you the whole day yesterday. Wishing Dathan the speediest, most comfortable recovery.
