Roly Poly Babies!

Malia (and all of us really) are so excited that our habitat is thriving. We were looking today and found some little tiny Roly babies.

We looked it up and found that they carry their eggs in their stomach region and when they hatch they remain in the little pouch for 3 weeks before heading out. There are two sizes roaming right now- tiny and *really* tiny. They look just like the adults but really pale. They'll molt 4-5 times as they grow, this should be fun to watch!

I don't have a macro lens and these little guys are hard to focus on! But here is one of them:

And for size comparison, here is the same bug- in the upper corner you'll see just a small piece of a strawberry top. So, they are only a hair larger than the seeds on a strawberry.
