Eliana is really loving coloring books right now. I bought a new box of 96 crayons on Saturday and today, Tuesday, the points are all at least half worn! She has spent 2-4 hours a day coloring in the last week or so. This girl is coloring book crazed!
Malia tends to prefer blank page drawing but is into "hidden picture" puzzlers right now.
Malia is surprising us with some big concepts in art as well. Yesterday she drew a picture and she told Dad "the jump rope is smaller because it is behind her"- doing her best to articulate perspective. The next picture was a vase with a sun on the right and a shadow of the vase on the left- I was really impressed with that observation of light!
Sasha is not to interested in art right now, but this girl is *taking off* in her speech! Constant stream of new words, phrases and sentences. One that tickles me right now is "Ate it all up" followed by the cutest slurping noise. And as always the tonal range in her voice just melts me. She speaks with such a variety of tone for emphasis- I'm not sure I've observed that in a 2 yr old before.
