The Last Lemons

My Grandpa used to send my girls lemons off his lemon trees. These aren't just any lemons, these are massive orange-size lemons.

This year my grandpa died, his wife and her kids sent us one last round of lemons. I harvested all the seeds with hopes of making my own lemon trees in his memory. If you have any hints, I'm all ears!

The 9 lemons made over 4 cups of juice. Amazing!




This poor girl loves citrus, and it causes her bronchial spasms. Considering it a special occasion she decided to eat some leftover lemon pulp anyway and had to spend the next few hours on the sofa coughing and groaning. Poor kid.

Holiday

had a wonderful winter holiday, low key. Some fun activities were missed because poor Sasha came down with a fever, but I think she had a great time anyhow.

Christmas Parade

We actually got to help make the float and everything- walking with their Girl Scout troops. We had a Nutcracker theme to dress to, and you all know how much we love to dress up. Malia opted to be a snowflake, Eliana was Clara (complete with her nutcracker) and Sasha was the Mouse King's mousling minion.

I can not fully express how good school and girl scouts has been for Eliana. It's really good for her to be accepted for who she is, not compared as part of a grouping of three sisters all the time. We loved learning at home, but she was she wasn't finding the social success that she is now. SO happy to see her budding social life.

Dallas Trip

We went to Dallas area last weekend- had a pretty nice time. Saw Dathan off to yet another trip to Brazil. I guess I haven't updated here, but Dathan's new position takes him out of the country- a lot! He's about 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. I miss him, but this is a great experience.

We also had some family pictures taken, but it was ice cold, sprinkling, and windy- so I'm not holding my breath about them.

Dinner at Razoo's... quite possibly the most delicious cajun inspired food I've ever had. It's not down home gumbo, but it has beautiful cajun flair and it is DELISH.

I think it may have been their funnest year though, because this year they were able to trick or treat with friends. When they were handing out candy at our door, they knew so many people- it was adorable and made it a much more interactive experience than it usually is.
